The Emergency Responsiveness Initiative in Tyre Caza focusses on enhancing capacities and improving effectiveness and efficiency of preparedness and response mechanisms during disasters. As part of Phase 2 of the project, the Union of Tyre Municipalities (UoTM) and the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) in particular selected the a old part of Tyre city near the seaport as a model area. This initiative aims to strengthen local disaster preparedness and response mechanisms by building on previous efforts in the Al-Masaken area, where a Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) container was installed and equipped with emergency PPE and equipment.
Project Objective:
To enhance community resilience and disaster response capacity by raising awareness and promoting preparedness across different groups of the local society in the targeted area.
